Our Commitment to Your Privacy

We are committed to respecting and maintaining the privacy of the shoppers and retailers who use our site. We have created policies to prevent the misuse of any personal information sent to onsalenow. We also have security measures in place to prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of information under our control. We have created this privacy statement in order to disclose our information-gathering and dissemination practices for onsalenow.

All updates and changes to this privacy policy are posted on this page as soon as the change takes effect.

Only a few employees have any access to personal information stored in the onsalenow databases (email addresses, merchant billing information, etc.). These employees are briefed on the privacy policies upon hiring. These employees access the information by using a password to access a secured server. None of this information is stored on the website. All of this information is stored in a secured environment, is protected and can only be accessed by database administrators. In addition, all credit card information is protected through encryption.

How We Collect and Use Information…
from Shoppers  

We do not ask shoppers to register with us. The main reason for this is because we do not want to create artificial barriers to using the website.

We do track website usage and individual clicks on pages and click-throughs to product information listed by individual retailers. This information is collated, and provided to retailers from time to time in summary reports. This allows retailers to understand which product listings were the most popular and generated the most sales leads.

As a matter of policy, you will not receive any mail from us unless you specifically request it via the ‘contact us’ links within the site. We will never share your identity or address with any other third party unless you explicitly ask us to.

onsalenow does not share any contact information with third parties.

from Retailers

onsalenow requires that retailers provide certain account information when opening a retailer account.

This account information includes their registered business address, contact name, phone number, and a credit or debit card number (if paying in this way). Alternatively retailers provide their bank account details if they choose to pay by direct debit mandate.

onsalenow uses this account information provided by retailers for (a) billing purposes, (b) to maintain the accuracy of store and sale information on onsalenow, and (c) to contact retailers about their account.

onsalenow may provide third parties with aggregate (not individual) statistics about retailers, sales, traffic patterns, and related website information. This information will never include billing information or contact information. We will not distribute or sell your account contact information (phone number, address, email address). We will provide information as required by law, court order, or as requested by other government or law enforcement authority.

We also reserve the right to release information concerning a retailer who we believe is in violation of our content guidelines or onsalenow service terms. We will cooperate with law enforcement agencies in identifying those who use our servers for illegal activities. We also reserve the right to report any illegal activity to law enforcement for prosecution.

Links to other sites

onsalenow contains links to other sites, including links to retailer’s websites. These other sites may have privacy policies that are different from those of onsalenow. We have no control over any personal information you choose to provide those sites and are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites.

Cookies and IP addresses

Cookies are small amounts of data delivered to your computer via your web browser for record-keeping purposes. The use of cookies is an industry standard, and all major web sites use them to recognize returning users, track usage behaviour, and facilitate your access to and use of their sites.

In order to use the Web site, you must accept the installation of a cookie on your computer. If your internet browser software is not set to accept cookies, you will be unable to use onsalenow.

Cookies are used to store variables that are needed by the application to update and modify the relevant records.

These cookies do not store information that may identify a user personally unless that user has provided detailed address information to the web site.

onsalenow collects the IP addresses of users who visit the Web site. This is done in order to administer our system and to diagnose problems with our Web site.

Using a user's IP address, onsalenow automatically tracks certain information about the users who visit our site. The information we collect is standard for most major websites and includes URL history and browser identification. We collect this information to analyse trends, track movement and use, gather broad demographic information, and administer the site. We do not link IP addresses or user tracking data to any information that would identify a user personally, such as street address or email address that you may have provided to us.

Within the Retail Administration Console (RAC) part of the website, we use encrypted cookies to securely identify a logged-in retailer. This allows the merchant to access information within the RAC without entering their login name and password for each new page requested.

Credit/Debit Card Details

Credit/Debit card details are encrypted using 128bit security when input into the website at the retailer registration stage. The credit/debit card details cannot be seen fully by anyone. We store the last 4 digits only on our host servers for reference purposes.

The credit/debit card information is then passed securely from onsalenow to World Pay* via the SSL** cert enabled and the secure tunnel setup between onsalenow and WorldPay for transfer of data. WorldPay maintain a copy of these details on their system, as this is needed to pay the monthly charges.

** Secure Sockets Layer - is a protocol designed to enable secure communications on an insecure network such as the Internet. SSL provides encryption and integrity of communications along with strong authentication using digital certificates.

Usernames and Passwords

After registration, retailers are sent via email a username and password. This username and password is termed a group level user profile as it allows the retailer full access to add shops (up to package limits if appropriate) and to manage their product list across all shops. The group level username cannot be changed once setup, although the password may be changed by the retailer from time to time using the password change feature provided.

Additional usernames and passwords may be set- up by retailers for shop level access to individual shops (shop level user profile). Shop level user profiles allow access to manage product lists for individual shops. Once set-up, the username may not be changed; however the password may be changed at any time by the Shop level user or Group level user using the password change feature provided.

Usernames and passwords are encrypted within the onsalenow website. Usernames are visible to onsalenow administrators; passwords are not. Where a password has been forgotten, onsalenow administrators can on request re-send the password details to the individual retailer.

If a retailer believes that their password details have become known to third parties, they should immediately change the password using the password change feature provided. They should also contact onsalenow who will be able to track any changes made to Retailer product lists or their information in the interim.

Correcting and updating account information

Retailers can update their account information at any time by logging in to the onsalenow website.
